About Us

At Gumnut Toys, we specialize in hard to find, educational and play toys as well as unique gifts for children. We strive to find that special toy or gift that you have been looking for. Gumnut Toys is a family owned business based in sunny Brisbane, Queensland. I run the business with a little help from my husband (who takes the toy photos) and two independent daughters (15 and 12 who often give feedback on the latest toys). This crazy journey began about 10 years ago when I purchased a Toy Library. I found that all the best toys were in Kindergartens and preschools and I could not find them to purchase. So I set about finding suppliers of these specialised products. All toys can teach a child something, but I also wanted to be an active part of the learning experience. I knew there were many parents like myself out there and so that is where we come from.

Over the years I know we have been responsible for reuniting many children with lost or worn out friends and babies as well as saving many parents from sleepless nights.

Our aim is that when you purchase toys from Gumnut Toys it is not just for the children but allows the parents to become part of that wonderful world of play – even for a short time.
